This is a little outdated (written somewhere at the beginning of 2011) now, but I still find some interesting ideas there. Maybe it’s just me…
- “the ability to gather and process information so as to efficiently solve problems and exploit opportunities” (Heylighen, Distributed intelligence technologies, unpublished);
- “the continuous process of making sense of the surrounding environment” (I cannot remember where I have read this one, but it may be
[Kegan, R. (1982). The evolving self: problem and process in human development. Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University Press.] or somebody from constructive – developmental school.
In any case the idea is that intelligence is not a static property but a process.
